On January 21, 2021, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Midland County Deputies responded to a Burglary at the Quick Track convenience store located at 13920 W. Hwy 80.

 

Upon arrival, Deputies observed that the front glass door was shattered and entry had been made into the store. Video from the store shows a suspect wearing a black hoodie and gray sweat pants with "Addidas" on the left pant leg, gaining entry into the store through the front door and stealing approximately $3,200 worth of E-Cigarettes and Jewel Pods.

On January 30, around 2 in the morning, Midland Police were dispatched to 1511 Rankin Hwy, El Mitote Sports Lounge, in reference to shots fired. Officers arrived and found a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the ER, where he later died of his injuries.
 
During the investigation, it was discovered that as the customers were leaving the bar, several subjects began arguing in the parking lot. Immediately it turned violent with gunshots being fired.

January 08, 2021

**UPDATE** On Friday, January 15, 2021, at approximately 1815hrs, MPD Officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Holiday Hill Road in reference to a dead body found in an open field. Officers arrived on scene and confirmed a male subject was deceased. Persons detectives, MPD Crime Scene Unit and Death investigator were notified and responded to the scene. It was discovered that the deceased male was identified as Alejandro Marcello Ramirez (WM DOB 12/19/1854). An autopsy was requested and next to kin has been notified.  This is the same suspect who was was wanted for Murder and Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon.

On December 30, 2020, around 0531 hours, Midland Police officers responded to a call of two gunshot victims at 1105 N. Lamesa.  Upon arrival, the officers found an unresponsive female lying in the alley and a male sitting inside a vehicle. Both had gunshot wounds. The male was transported to the ER with life-threatening injuries and the female was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the investigation, the shooter was identified as Alejandro Ramirez. We are asking for the public help in locating Alejandro. We believe he is still in Midland. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The Midland County Sheriff’s Office and Midland Crime Stoppers need your help in solving an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

On May 14, 2020 Midland County deputies responded to 3407 South County Road 1200 in reference to a disturbance with weapons.  Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim who advised that he had seen a blue 4-dr Dodge pickup drive onto his RV property and pull up to a trailer that he rents out. The victim saw a white male, a white female and two black males in the vehicle.  The victim then saw the white male exit the vehicle with a baseball bat and decided to drive up to the RV to see what was going on.  Upon arriving, the victim saw the suspects stealing from the RV, so he positioned his vehicle behind the blue truck to block them in and walked up to the RV.  The victim was then approached by one of the black males who pulled out a gun and pointed it at him and was told to move his truck.  The victim complied and the suspects left.

On August 21, 2020, deputies responded to Metro Equipment located at 12808 W Interstate 20 reference a business burglary.  Between 3:20 a.m. and 4:10 a.m., an unknown suspect drove onto the property in a red 4-door flatbed pickup and cut the pipe fence in front of the business where equipment was kept on display.   The suspect then hooked up to a trailer that had a Kioti tractor on it with a front-end loader, Bush Hog mower w/Bush Hog box blade attachment.  The property is valued at over $30,000.

Then they drove up and hitched a 2020 enclosed gray trailer bearing Louisiana license plate J732756. Inside the trailer was a 2012 Polaris ranger and hunting equipment. The total amount these thieves stole was over $31,000.

Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, Richey D. Stewart, in the sleeper of the semi-truck and determined he was deceased with a single gunshot wound to the chest area. Investigators are currently working this case as a homicide.

On Saturday, May 27, 1995, Carolyn Kolas was found deceased, partially nude in an alley near the 3000 block of West Ohio Street in Midland.  Carolyn was on her routine morning walk in the neighborhood when she was attacked.  Carolyn was looking forward to her upcoming graduation from nursing school.  At the time of her death she was the proud mother of two, a two-year-old and a nine-year old.

Investigators followed the clues, but the case eventually went cold. The Midland Police Department and the Texas Rangers have not given up on solving this case. Recently investigators have reignited the search for the person(s) responsible through updated technology and investigative methods.

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help identifying the suspect involved in a shooting that occurred Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Sante Fe Apartments located at 5010 W Loop 250.

Around 9:45 a.m., the police were called in reference to a gunshot victim.  During the investigation, it was found that the victim and a friend were exiting his vehicle when an unknown male approached them and began shooting.   The victim was hit, and the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored, possibly blue, Chev Malibu with tinted windows.

The suspect is described as a black male about 6-foot and skinny build.  He was last seen wearing a black shirt, dark hoodie, and jeans and a blue bandana covering his face.

The complainant reported her white 2019 Polaris Ranger XP 1000 UTV stolen from her property. The complainant stated the UTV was parked in her driveway and last seen that morning prior to leaving for work. The UTV is further described as a white and black trim 6-seater with a dump bed, valued at approximately $29,000.

On January 16th through January 26th, several car wash businesses were burglarized throughout Midland. The unknown suspect was using a prying tool to open the vacuum cleaner coin boxes and the dollar bill exchange machines. The amount taken was over $2,000 dollars.

On January 26th around 2:00 a.m., a witness who saw an individual attempting to break into a vacuum cleaner coin box at 4705 Briarwood. They describe the suspect as being a male and wearing a dark hoodie with a white beanie. No other description was given. He was last seen peddling away on a bike.

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help in identifying and locating a vehicle or suspect in an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon that occurred Wednesday evening of January 15, 2020. The location of the drive-by shooting occurred at the 4000 block of Bankhead Highway in Midland.

 

Around 10:21 PM, the victim was traveling westbound on Bankhead Highway when he heard a “pop” coming from outside his vehicle. Thinking he might have a flat tire, the victim pulled over and exited his vehicle.  Within seconds, a truck passed the victim, who was standing outside, and several shots were fired from the truck, striking the victim and the vehicle. The truck fled the scene.

 

The truck was described as a dark in color, possibly brown, dually- unknown make or model. Security video attained shows moments before the incident. The video is hazy, but you can see a dark in color truck behind the victim as they are traveling westbound on Bankhead.

On December 1, 2019, at approximately 12:50 am, deputies responded to the 2800 block of South County Road 1194 on a medical call.  Deputies located a male on scene with gunshot wounds and he was transported to the hospital.  Patrol and CID conducted their investigation and determined the victim was shot at his residence. The suspect was later identified as Aaron Enriquez Solano.  An arrest warrant for Attempted Murder was obtained for Aaron Enriquez Solano who remains at large.

We need your help identifying an Aggravated Assault suspect.

On 11-18-2019, at about 7:41PM, the suspect tried to steal a trailer hitch from the victim’s truck at HEB located at 5407 Andrews Highway. The victim came out of HEB and observed the suspect at his truck trying to steal the hitch. When the victim confronted the suspect, the suspect had a wrench pipe and raised as if he was going to hit the victim.

The suspect got into a Silver GMC Acadia which was parked next to the victim’s Dodge pickup truck. When the suspect attempted to leave, the victim stood behind the suspect’s vehicle to prevent him from leaving. The suspect backed out and struck the victim several times and left at a high rate of speed. The suspect also almost ran over the victim’s wife when she was trying to take a picture of his license plate.
