Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help identifying several subjects involved in Theft.  

 

In the month of July, several suspects have been stealing thousand dollars’ worth of items from a business in the mall located at 4511 N. Midkiff.    The suspects are four Hispanic females and two Hispanic males.   The subjects will enter the store in groups and they will have one or two subjects outside who will act as lookouts while the other subjects select and conceal merchandise.   The suspects are targeting Nike items and makeup.   These subjects have been hitting stores in Midland, Odessa and Lubbock.   The subjects have been seen leaving in a Jeep Cherokee, silver Hyundai 2016 Elantra and a white Chrysler 300.

On July 14, 2017, the victim reported that two rings were stolen from a business located in the 2800 block of Faudree Rd.  The victim described the rings as a white gold size 6.5 with center stone being 4.5 karat and 2 karats with two rows of 20 Princess cut diamonds valued at $35,000.    The second ring is a yellow gold size 6 with center stone being 1.88 karats and one single row of diamonds valued at $32,000.

On June 18, 2017, deputies responded to a theft where 26 joints of 2-3/8 metal construction pipe was taken from a tank battery location approximately 14 miles south of Interstate 20 on F M 1788.   The owner of the pipe stated he last saw the pipe at the location the day prior to the theft.  The suspect utilized an on-site forklift to load the pipe.

 On June 20th around 9 p.m. a subject walked into the business located at 4519 North Garfield.  The suspect tried to retrieve items located behind the front desk which led to an argument with the store employee.   The suspect then pulled a black semi-automatic pistol from his waistline and fired one round towards the employee.  Luckily, the round missed the employee.  

 

The suspect is a heavy set Hispanic male around 6’ tall last seen wearing a black long sleeve shirt, dark colored jeans, a gray flat bill hat and dark framed sunglasses.

Over the past several months, oil companies in the Permian Basin have reported the loss of hundreds of barrels of oil being taken from oil field locations. These thieves will commonly steal oil by utilizing a tanker truck and pump over 200 barrels of oil into the tanker from a holding tank.
If you know or suspect anyone committing these or other oil field related crimes, you could earn a cash reward of up to $3,500 if your tip results in an arrest and/or conviction against the persons responsible.

On May 5, 2017, an investigation was conducted for two separate incidents involving two juvenile females.  The outcry made as for Indecency with a Child by Contact and Indecency with a Child by Exposure.  Investigators were able to develop a person of interest; however before investigators could interview that person he fled to Mexico.  Investigators were able to obtain only a name of Oscar Valles who is approximately 5’5” to 5’7” tall, 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.   It is possible that he has family living in the Dallas-Fort Worth or Cleburne, Texas area.

Loop 250 N.  The suspect noticed an Apple iPhone 6s on the counter and she took the phone while the employee was occupied.   The suspect is described as a Hispanic female in her twenties last seen wearing a black ball cap, gray shirt and shorts.   The suspect left the business in dark colored Ford 4-door pickup.

On April 23rd at approximately 4:00 p.m., the owner of a business located in the 8500 block of North F M 1788 reported a theft.  The suspects entered the yard by cutting a lock to gain entry to where the stolen items were located.  The suspect hooked their vehicle to black 2009 Big-Tex equipment trailer which was loaded with a Caterpillar Skid Steer loader.  The value of both items is over $30,000.

On March 18, 2017, sometime between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and midnight, a white 2006 5-wheel Sandpiper travel trailer was stolen from the 1700 block of East County Road 137.   The trailer was located behind a business at that location and was hooked up to water and electricity.   The trailer was displaying a Texas license plate 5BG-633 at the time of the theft.   The trailer is valued at over $15,000.

This week, we are assisting the Martin County Sheriff’s Office regarding a theft that occurred at an oil field lease location in Martin County near the intersection of Hwy 349 and County Road 3200.   On January 27th at 12:23 p.m., an employee of the company noticed solar panels and car batteries missing from the location.   The solar panels were used in charging the batteries in order to maintain production.  Total value stolen and loss of production to the company is over $19,000.

On December 6, 2016, an elderly female went to 3325 W. Wadley to get gas and an unknown Hispanic female came up to the female and offered to help fill the vehicle with gas.  The unknown female who was acting like a good Samaritan actually stole the elderly female’s credit card.  Later the victim found out that the female went on shopping spree and ran up over $1,600 on the stolen credit card.   The suspect is described as a Hispanic female in her twenties, approximately 5’4” and 140 pounds.    And the surveillance photo shows the suspect and her family at a register.

On October 14, 2016 at 7:00 a.m., deputies responded to the 2700 block of South County Road 1200 in reference to a Theft.   The complainant informed deputies that upon arriving for work he observed the bay door leading into the business to be partially opened.  Once inside, the employee discovered fourteen (14) McElroy Pitbull fusion machines were missing which are valued at over $88,000.   The complainant stated a black Chevrolet pickup was acting suspicious in the area the day before the theft.  The pickup had a white Broncho horse head sticker on the back window.
