3/5/2010 - Midland County Sheriff`s Office - Burglary of a Habitation

Midland Crime Stoppers and Midland County Sheriff’s Office need your help solving a Burglary of a Habitation.

 

Sometime in the nighttime hours between February 18th and 19th, a person or persons unknown broke into a house at 1014 West County Rd 137.  The subject or subjects took a 50” Panasonic Plasma TV, a Panasonic Surround Sound System with a Blue Ray DVD Player and a Wii Game System.  The total value of the items taken is $2500.

2/26/2010 - Midland Police Department - Business Burglary

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help in solving a Business Burglary.

 

On Sunday January 31st, Midland Police responded to Centenary Enterprises located at 800 West Wall.  Officers found the front gate open and the glass front door had been broken out.

 

The owner of the business reported that several display cases containing World War I and II swords and daggers, as well as cases of Astra and Llama handguns were stolen.  Also taken was an AR-15 Rifle with a scope.  The total value of the items taken is $5,000.

 

Since some of the items stolen are unique and considered collector’s items, these thieves could be trying to sell them to private collectors in Midland or a surrounding community.

2/19/2010 - Midland County Sheriff`s Office - Credit Card Abuse

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland County Sheriff’s Office need your help solving a Credit Card Abuse case. 

The victim reported reportedly left their credit card at a ATM machine at a 7-11 Store and these actors seen in the surveillance video went on a spending spree using the victim’s card. 

Three Hispanic subjects go into Big 5 Sporting Goods and make two purchases, one for Dickie’s Trader Boots and one for Nike Reax Tennis Shoes.  These three subjects went to several other stores; however, the other stores have not cooperated in providing video of suspects.   If further video becomes available it will be posted.  There was a total $1,700 in merchandise purchased with the stolen card.

2/12/2010 - Midland Police Department - Business Burglaries

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help solving two Business Burglaries.

 

On Sunday January 10th a burglary at the Williams Accounting Offices located at #6 Desta Drive was reported.  The burglars entered the office and pried open a safe that contained several items, including important documents, keys to other offices, approximately 37 checks were reported missing and 31 gold Krugerrand pieces.  The total value of the gold Krugerrand pieces is well over $30,000.   There may be someone trying to sell these coins to a private collector, so buyers beware! 

 

Weidner Investment Service was also burglarized at the same location.  The burglars went through a few desks and knocked a hole into a wall that leads into Pam’s Snack Shop located next door.  There was an undetermined amount of cash and property taken.  The expense to fix the damage done to the wall and the property taken is valued close to $37,000 in this burglary.

2/5/2010 - Midland County Sheriff`s Office - Burglary of Business

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland County Sheriff`s Office need your help solving a Business Burglary.  

On January 28, 2009, deputies were called to a burglary of Molina’s Garage located at 1606 North County Road 1144.  Upon arrival, the front door to the business was damaged and several items were missing from the business, which included: 

  • Red Lincoln Electric Welder
  • Red Lincoln Mig Welder
  • Dynaglo Propane Heater
  • Mac Impact Wrench
  • Sears Craftsman Battery Charger
  • Sears Vacuum
  • Several Craftsman and Blue Point miscellaneous hand tools

 The total value of the items missing is $2,652.

1/29/2010 - Midland Police Department - Felony Fail to Stop and Render Aid

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help solving a Felony Fail Stop and Render Aid.

 

On Thursday January 21st at 3:45 p.m., Midland Police were dispatched to a Hit & Run accident at Andrews Hwy and Ward Street.   James Thomas Fineout 51 years old was traveling westbound on Andrews Hwy on his Black 2006 Honda Shadow motorcycle when a Red Dodge pickup also traveling west on Andrews Hwy abruptly turned right.  This action caused the motorcycle to strike the pickup; however, the Dodge pickup is the main contributor of the accident.  The driver of the pickup fled the scene immediately after the accident. 

 

The vehicle that caused the accident is described as a Red Dodge either extended cab or double cab pickup with large chrome rims and low profile tires.  The vehicle should have damage on the right back quarter panel.

1/15/2010 - Midland Police Department - Home Invasion

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help solving a Home Invasion.

 

On January 3rd between the hours at 2:00 a.m., three unknown white male subjects kicked in the front door of 2411 W. Dengar.  The victim was in the house asleep, heard the commotion and got up.  The victim confronted the suspects in the hallway and they proceeded to physically assault the victim.  The descriptions of suspects are:

 

·       Suspect #1 - White male is described is in his 20’s, 5’8, 165 lbs and was last seen wearing a red shirt.  He had black cornrows that hang down to his shoulder. 

·       Suspect #2 - White male, apprx 26 years old, 6’2, 225 lbs with short black hair and last seen wearing a blue shirt and some type of brown work boots.

·       Suspect #3 – White male, 5’10, medium build (175-185 lbs) with short black hair.

 

After the physical assault, the suspects left through the back door eastbound in either a 20009-2009 White Ford King Ranch style long bed pickup.  Witnesses state that it sounded like a diesel engine.   The picture below may be what suspect #1 looks like.

12/22/2009 - Midland Police Department - Super Mercado Robbery

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help in solving an Aggravated Robbery.

Midland Police are investigating the armed robbery of Super Mercado located at 2208 N. Big Spring.  It occurred on Monday, December 21st around 4:35 a.m.  Two men, one armed with a shotgun and the other carrying a handgun confronted a store employee and a manager with the weapons and ordered them to open the safe.  They then fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.  

The suspects are described as either white or hispanic, both about 5 foot 8 inches tall with medium builds.   Both men wore baggy pants and hooded sweatshirts and had their faces covered.  They were also wearing aqua colored surgical gloves. 

The robbers shouted commands and threats at the employees in spanish.  The robbers filled what appears to be a pillowcase with cash and tied up the employees with white zip ties and exited the store.

12/21/2009 - Midland Police Department - Theft of Copper Wire

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland Police Department need your help solving the Theft of Copper Wire.

 

For the past several months, the Midland Police Department has been investigating the theft of copper wire from different locations in the city.  Several construction sites and businesses have been targets.  The most recent locations that have been hit are: 

  •  Oncor Electric located at 2401 W. Industrial where 1000 lbs of plastic coated wire on a spool was stolen.  Valued at $9,100.
  •    SuddenLink Communications located a t 2530 N. Midkiff had a small spool of copper wire stolen off a service vehicle.  Valued at $200.    A storage yard located at 1509 E. Taylor was broken into and 1000 lbs of commercial grade electrical wire valued at $1,000 along with other items were stolen.

The date range on these thefts is between December 10th and 14th.  With the price of copper wiring going up and the ease of getting rid of it, there has been a sharp increase in this type of crime.

12/15/2009 - Midland County Sheriff`s Office - Missing Person

Midland Crime Stoppers and the Midland County Sheriff`s Office need your help in locating a Missing Person.

On April 2, 2009, Pamela McDonald went missing.  She is a white female, 5`6, apprx 140 lbs with long blonde hair and blue eyes.  Her car was found at a road side park near Monahans.  When she went missing, she was wearing a blue Dallas Cowboy sweatshirt, blue jeans and purple/pink Nike shoes.  Pamela has two small children and family members say she would not leave without the kids of her own free will.  She also goes by Pamela Larned.  She has friends and family in Monahans and in Midland.  No information has been received on her whereabouts.
